Port Arthur

If you are planning a holiday to Tasmania, you simply can’t miss a visit to the Tasman Peninsula where you will find one of Tasmania’s most visited tourist attractions, Port Arthur Historic Site….and of course Federation Artisan Chocolate!

You will find us on the left on the corner of Arthur Highway and South Street at Taranna, only 10 minutes before you reach the Port Arthur Historic Site.

Here you will find our chocolate making workshop and shop where you are able to see and smell us making a wide range of our chocolate products through our viewing windows. Even better, you can taste our chocolate for free!

It’s free to enter and we are open 7 days a week, all year round except for Christmas Day.

Chocolate making occurs most days between 11am and 2pm. If you’re part of a tour, school excursion or cruise ship group you are very welcome, however it is recommended that you contact us in advance so that we can be prepared for your arrival. Ring on 03 6250 3435.

Opening hours are:

Please note:

Due to the ongoing disruption due to the coronavirus we have closed our Taranna Site  (Port Arthur Chocolate Experience) temporarily and will announce here and on social media when we open again.

We continue to be open at our Hobart Chocolate Factory in Victoria Street and look forward to seeing you there.

You can still buy our amazing chocolate here  and we thank you for your understanding and support.
