Our Story
For over 30 years, Federation Artisan Chocolate has been a Tasmanian mainstay, tantalising taste buds with delectable treats. In 2014, Maurice and Helen Curtis took the helm, igniting a passionate mission. They transformed a small confectionary company into a champion of ethical and high-quality chocolate, using meticulously sourced cacao beans and the mastery of the bean-to-bar process.
Maurice and Helens vision extended beyond exquisite chocolates. They craved to share their love for chocolate making with a wider audience. Recognising the need to expand their workshop and fulfill their dream of a full bean-to-bar range, they opened their Hobart City CBD Artisan chocolate factory, chocolate shop, and cafe in April 2019.
However, their journey continued to evolve. After navigating the challenges of the COVID pandemic, they made a strategic decision. Federation Artisan Chocolate relocated from the Hobart CBD and their Taranna site. Now, they’re building a unique chocolate experience space at Every Man and His Dog Vineyard in Richmond in the Coal River Valley.
This exciting new chapter offers an even more immersive experience. You can embark on a delectable journey with exceptional chocolate, delicious food, and fine Tasmanian wine. Federation Chocolate even offer schocolate-making experiences, allowing you to create your own handcrafted treats to take home.
Today, Federation Artisan Chocolate remains a proudly Tasmanian, family-owned enterprise. Every delectable piece they create is lovingly handcrafted in Tasmania, Australia, ensuring a unique and ethically-sourced chocolate experience – with a touch of exciting evolution!
